Rwanda: The organization Jambo welcomes the “confession” of Théogène Rudasingwa

The “confession” of Dr.Théogene Rudasingwa, in which he states that Paul Kagame isindeed the author of the attack on April 6,1994 that killed former Rwandan President JuvenalHabyarimana and his Burundian counterpart Cyperien Ntaryamira, was welcomed by theorganization of young Rwandans called Jambo asbl.

This is shown by a press release of the association, published Monday, October 3rd onits website (www.jamboasbl.com). In this work, the association demanded that justicebe done, and that therefore “Kagame has to be tried before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda”, which aims to “prosecute persons responsible for acts of genocide orother serious violations of the international humanitarian law committed on the territory ofRwanda and Rwandan citizens responsible for such violations committed in the territoryof neighboring States between January 1 and December 31, 1994 “(UN resolution 955).

Indeed, Saturday the 1th of October at 7:09, Théogène Rudasingwa published anote on his Facebook page, entitled “a confession” , with the introduction: ” PAUL KAGAMACYPRIENBAGARAGAZA,CYRIAQUEPERRINE “. He goes one step further in his text by explaining the reasons that motivatedhis approach: ” the truth must be told now . ” He also said that despite all the refutationsof Kagame, his guilt in the attack, is a secret ” public “within the members of the RwandanPatriotic Front.”

This accusation from the former Secretary General of the RPF and its armed wing staff atthe time of the attack and also a former chief of staff of Paul Kagame, has surprised manyand many people whom questions are raised about the authenticity of the author’s deathrevelations. However, we can now say with certainty that this is not an impersonation but thatare the words of Dr. Théogène Rudasingwa.

Indeed, in an interview with the Voice of America radio ( listen to the interview ), he statedverbally that the reason he decided to disclose this open secret is because the deathof President Juvenal Habyarimana and his Burundian counterpart, has had unfortunateconsequences, including activation of the ” genocide of Tutsis and moderate Hutus . ”

As to the question on the evidence of his facts, has Rudasingwa, still in the interview, saidthat first President Paul Kagame himself made the confession of the crime and secondly hewill provide evidence he holds in court at the appropriate time.

He also stated that the purpose of these revelations is to deny the statements according towhich Hutu extremists have shot down the presidential plane – an attack that would be part oftheir plan to exterminate the Tutsi – (editor’s note in this connection, one that was presentedby the media as the “brains” of the genocide, Colonel Bagosora, was acquitted by the ICTRfor the crime of conspiracy to commit genocide) and to demonstrate that “Paul Kagame has its share of responsibility in the genocide of Tutsis ”

“The next step is to bring Paul Kagame to justice “, he said, after asking forgiveness to thefamilies of victims as well as Rwandans, Burundians and the French, for concealing the truthfor so long.About the term genocide of Tutsis and “moderate” Hutus used by Théogène Rudasingwa,
the association Jambo expressed regret about that qualification of genocide, saying that ” the identificationwho were not covered by the killings, as extremists. “This does not correspond to reality” in light of the facts and numerous testimonies . ”

Jambo also calls on all actors of the RPF to follow the example of, in particular, AbdulRuzibiza and Théogène Rudasingwa, and deliver the truth about crimes committed bytheir politico-military movement from October 1th 1990 until today, and ” especially on the exterminationpopulation of northern Rwanda, Hutu refugees in Congo between 1996 and 1997 and the Congolese since 1996. ”

Finally the association makes call to ” all actors, national and international, especially former and current Rwandan and Congolese political and military actors who have worked between 1990 and today, to help restore the truth and Justice, each delivering his testimony with respect to its function and its location in the various tragic events that bereaved our region . ”
